Myth 1 Menopausal Women Lose Interest in Sex

Myth 2 Menopausal Women Gain Weight

In fact, studies show that about 15 percent of women do not have this menopause symptom at all. While some women in perimenopause experience some weight gain, other women actually lose weight during perimenopause, and many of those who gain weight before menopause lose it afterward.
Myth 3 Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is Too Dangerous
Millions of women in menopause use some form of HRT. It is true that HRT can have dangerous consequences for women with a history of breast cancer, blood clots, untreated endometrial cancer, and certain other family health concerns. However, many women benefit from some sort of menopause hormone treatment, especially for the common symptoms of hot flashes and vaginal dryness.
These therapies have proven protective in the case of osteoporosis and some types of colon cancer. Each woman has a unique set of risks and symptoms. The best plan is to discuss your own situation thoroughly with your health provider.
