Menopause Symptom Hot Flashes

Hot flashes or night sweats and fatigue are just a few of the uncomfortable menopause symptoms. Many women start to suffer from menopausal hot flashes up to two years before they really enter menopause and stop having period.

It seems strange as menopause can make you feel hot flashes or night sweats and chills all within a minutes. While you first encounter a hot flash, your temperature increases so fast till you probably feel like you will never be cool again.

Unluckily when you have hot flashes, night sweats can shortly follow. While you sweat, your body drops its temperature leaving you not just cooler however soaking wet. This will follow by shivers and chills. All of this can occur with in the span of a minute or two.

As you get close to menopause, your body will begin to slow its production of the hormone Estrogen. Estrogen is a type of hormone that helps your body to regulate temperature. That is why you having hot flashes, chills and night sweats during menopause. For many women, menopause can take up to five years to complete which means that hot flashes become a way of life.

Estrogen is a fascinating hormone in our body. From the part it acts in puberty to the help it gives in creating life, it is an amazing substance to know. Menopause hot flashes has a relatioship with this interesting hormone.

It is hard to believe however the hot flashes that you experience during menopause are the result of the estrogen in your body being depleted. Estrogen is mostly produced by follicles development in the ovaries, the corpus luteum and your placenta when you are pregnant. Follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone stimulate the development of estrogen in your ovaries.

Whenever you don’t have enough FSH or LH or if you produce too much will throw off the balance of your estrogen and cause you many reproductive problems. Minimal amounts of estrogen are also developed by other tissues like your adrenal glands, liver and even your breasts. When a woman is born her ovaries contain between 200,000 and 400,000 follicles which will become the tiny eggs her ovaries will produce each month.

Estrogen acts a mighty part in the process of ovulation. That is why when a women ages and her supply of eggs declines, she will begin to stop having menses and experience menopause. As menopause occurs, her ovaries stop secreting estrogen and her body will go through several changes.
Menopause hot flashes are just one of these changes of life that she will experience.
